Vintage Clothing Grading Guide

Our grading system is designed to provide a consistent standard across all products. As vintage items are pre-owned, signs of age and wear should always be expected. Every item is inspected and sorted into one of the following grades.

Grade A:

Grade A items are in excellent vintage condition and are ready to sell with little or no preparation.

Characteristics:
  • No major flaws or damage
  • Minimal signs of wear consistent with age
  • Bright colors and good fabric condition
  • May require only steaming or washing before resale
Examples of acceptable flaws:
  • Minor fading
  • Light wear
  • Small, barely noticeable marks that do not affect appearance
Grade B:

Grade B items are in good wearable condition but have noticeable signs of use or minor flaws.

Characteristics:
  • Fully wearable
  • One or more cosmetic imperfections
  • Suitable for resale after minor cleaning or simple repairs
Examples of common flaws:
  • Small stains
  • Minor holes or pulls
  • Light discoloration
  • Small repairs
  • Missing or broken buttons
  • Missing non-essential components
  • Moderate fading or cracking on prints
Grade C:

Grade C items have significant wear or damage but still retain value for resale, restoration, repair, or upcycling.

Characteristics:
  • Wearable in some cases but requires attention
  • Multiple visible flaws
  • Best suited for repair, customization, or budget resale
Examples of common flaws:
  • Large stains
  • Tears or holes
  • Missing buttons or broken zippers
  • Heavy fading
  • Significant fabric wear
  • Noticeable repairs
  • Distressed areas requiring restoration
Broken Grade:

Broken Grade items are not suitable for standard resale in their current condition.

These pieces are intended for:

  • Upcycling
  • Fabric reuse
  • Repair projects
  • Patchwork
  • Textile recycling
Examples of common flaws:
  • Major tears
  • Large missing sections of fabric
  • Severe staining
  • Broken or missing hardware
  • Extensive fabric damage
  • Heavy mildew or permanent odors
  • Structural damage that prevents normal wear

Please Note all items are genuine vintage and are pre-owned unless otherwise stated. Minor signs of wear should be expected across all grades.

Grades represent the overall condition of each garment rather than individual flaws.

Due to the nature of vintage clothing, occasional variations may occur, but we strive to maintain consistent grading standards across every order.
